Fever Dreams

As soon as I became involved in computers, I started experiencing what I call "Fever Dreams."

The closest thing I can relate it to is the known phenomenon of first-person 3D games giving people motion sickness, and often nightmares. Googling this just proved futile, but trust me it's a thing.

The harder I work on a problem, and the more I learn in a day, the more likely it is that I will be haunted by my fever dreams. My fever dreams are terrible, sweaty, desperate things. They are horriffic.

In them, I do not have even one coherent thought. The things I obsessed about, learned, worked on that day are grotesquely enmeshed with my everyday life. It is very difficult to elucidate one of these fever thoughts, but here is the best I can do from last night:

"If I connect the pulse from the wire to Tracey's T-Shirt, I can get the Arduino to stop pizza from making me fat, and I just need to ground the black wire to the timeout of Apache when the JSON call stops fatal errors on the hand count."

This goes on for hours, and I wake up covered in sweat, and my half-conscious mind is desperate to be free of this maelstrom, but them I'm pulled back in.

And the mad thoughts rush like a scream through my mind for the rest of the night.
